Why is it that all the coolest gadgets need to be illegally hacked before they are useful? (psp, iPhone~)?
Seriously, its insane. the PSP is useless until you install CFW, and even then the company's like sony and apple don't see why people are forced to do stuff like that.
same for the iPhone, how long did it take them to release MMS and copy/paste again? how many people have jailbroken the iPhone/touch?
seriously~~
why should we even need to GO that far??
I dont thing free games is the sole reason for hacking your PSP/iPhone
In my psp's case, All i wanted to do was play my old PSone games, and sony never released them.
And in the case of the iPhone (more seriously)
untill the recent software update, it couldn't even cut/paste or send MMS msg's. it was shocking.
im not saying they aren't usefull, but that if hackers can do it, they should do it in a legal way when people cry out for it. Im more than happy to pay for a device that does what i want it to do. Apple is on the right path, and sony kindly provided PSPpops (secretly really)
so both companys have saved face so far, yet I wonder why it takes a year to release an update from apple with copy/paste functionality and MMS.

The PSP is designed to play PSP games, movies, music and surf a little net. Your telling me it doesnt do any of those things before you hack it? Its a mini computer. Of course people are gonna find out ways to make it do more than its supposed to. That doesn't mean its useless or Sony should have built it that way to begin with.
Apple phones don't have to be jailbroken to be useful either. If Apple restricts you to buying apps from their store they corner the market and make more money.
Well, because Apple and Sony dont want to make it as useful as the hacked psp and iphone are, simply because they lose money. more people might buy the psp or iphone, but more than likely, apple and Sony will be sued because then people wont have to pay for the games/apps they download. We go that far because we want free games/apps.
