On your ESPN ScoreCenter test, the 3G version had to load 4 pages, where the 3GS version had to load only 2 pages, this would help to explain the time difference in loading the app

Hey, my friend has one and i’d rather keep the 3G because the 3G S gets incredibly hot after about 1 minute of playing 3d apps or in a call, it is not very comfortable talking with the 3G S because of its heat.. gets really hot. I’ll stick to my 3G!

I get what you are saying but it’s more than just 2 seconds faster. It’s got a compass, camera with autofocus, the video recorder is higher res and smoother, it’s got a new and much improved hardware graphics accelerator (big one for 3D apps) and twice the ram meaning no more crashes in apps and no need to restart before starting an app.
I’m with you though, I don’t think it’s quite worth the upgrade. I’ll probably get the next one, this ones already fast, the next one has to be faster.
You can clearly see that 3gs has 4 pages of apps and 3g only has 3 and look at the difference between the free memory. Its obvious that 3gs is way faster.
My Iphone 3G loads up stuff alot quicker than that. Also you have more programs on the 3g than on the 3gs, that could affect the speed.

Thanks for the video it was very helpful. And i believe getting the 3gs is worth it since is much faster, i go through a lot of things with my 3g just because is slow at times and applications take years to open unlike tmobile sidekicks which was my carrier before.
LOL ha ha 3GS not worth it man…I Currently have the 3G n i have all the features that the 3GS has including the video!!! Just jailbreak your phone u guys not worth it to pay $200 plus more dollars just for a phone thats 2 seconds faster. I have video record voice control plus all the apps from the apple store completely free!! So i dont pay a penny for any apps but if u have money to throw away then go ahead n buy the 3GS. i wouldnt not yet atleast, only saves u couple of seconds
well i had an iphone 3g for 2 months and att was willing to give me and iphone 3gs for free. why not, it was FREE. its faster and the smallest amount of memory is 16gb that is double of what i had.

The iPhone 3G S is for those of you who want to save a couple of seconds of your life. I don’t believe it’s worth it. I would recommend those who currently have the iPhone 3G to stick to it until next year, and those who don’t have an iPhone at all…then it’s your choice. I’m pretty sure that Apple will come out an update for the iPhone 3G to take video…right now they just want to force you to go buy the iPhone 3G S. Savage, thanks for the posting the video. =]
